This Privacy Policy explains how ZebraHouse Studios Inc. (“ZebraHouse Studios,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information across the games we publish (each a “Game,” and together our “Games”), including The Floppy Fish. It applies to all of our Games that link to this Policy. We do not operate our own servers or databases and do not store your personal data ourselves — the limited data involved is handled by Apple or Google, stored in your own iCloud account, or kept only on your device, as described below. Our Games work offline; some features — leaderboards, ads, and in-app purchases — require an internet connection.
Our Games use Apple Game Center for leaderboards. To display rankings we process your Game Center player identifier / nickname and your game scores (such as your high score). Your Game Center identity is managed by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy.
Our Games are supported by Google AdMob and may show interstitial ads and optional (opt-in / rewarded) ads you choose to watch. To serve and measure ads, AdMob may collect:
AdMob is a Google service; its processing is also governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
To measure ad-campaign effectiveness (such as app installs), we and our advertising partners also use Apple’s SKAdNetwork — a privacy-preserving framework that reports aggregated results without identifying you or tracking you across apps.
Our Games offer in-app purchases, including premium in-app currency — for example, Coins and Pearls in The Floppy Fish, where Pearls are the premium currency. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive your purchase status/history to deliver what you bought; we do not receive your full payment-card details.
If you email us, we receive your message and email address to respond.
Some information, such as your game settings and preferences, is stored only on your device (for example, in the app’s local storage). This data never leaves your device and is removed when you delete the Game. Your high scores are also synced to iCloud, as described below.
If you are signed in to iCloud, we use Apple’s iCloud Key-Value Storage to save certain game data — your Pearls and Coins balances, the skins you have unlocked, whether you have purchased the starter pack, your high scores, and the in-game challenges and achievements you have completed — so your purchases and progress carry over if you reinstall the Game or use another device. This data is stored in your private iCloud account and managed by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy; we do not have access to your iCloud account. If you are not signed in to iCloud, this data is kept only on your device. Because iCloud data is designed to persist, it is not automatically removed when you delete the Game — see Section 9 for how to remove it.
To keep our Games fair and to protect your purchases, we store two kinds of technical records:
We use Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics (Google services) to understand how our Games are used and to diagnose crashes and improve stability. These tools may collect:
This data is generally pseudonymous and is not used to personally identify you. It is processed by Google as our service provider and is also governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
Where consent is required (for example, in the EEA and UK), analytics and crash reporting run only after you consent, consistent with the consent controls described in Section 3.
On iOS, apps must ask permission before using your device’s advertising identifier to track you across other companies’ apps and websites. Where required, our Games show Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt, and you can allow or deny tracking. If you deny, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized.
You can change your choice anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Rewarded/opt-in ads are shown only when you choose to watch them.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region where consent is required, we use a Google-certified consent prompt to ask whether we and our advertising partners may use your data for personalized ads. You can review or change your choice at any time using the Ad Privacy Settings option in the Game’s Settings (shown where required).
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (providing the Games and purchases), our legitimate interests (operating, securing, and improving the Games, including analytics and non-personalized ads), your consent (where required, e.g., personalized advertising), and legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Depending on your ad and tracking settings and where you live, the use of advertising identifiers for personalized ads may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under certain laws (e.g., California’s CPRA). You can opt out using the tracking controls in Section 3.
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above. Leaderboard scores are retained while your entry remains active; advertising, analytics, and crash data are retained by Google per its policies; purchase records are retained as needed for support and legal/accounting requirements.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our Games are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because our Games include third-party advertising and in-app purchases, they are intended for general audiences. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA) may exercise rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of “sale”/“sharing.” EEA/UK residents may lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.
We are based in Canada. Information may be processed in Canada, the United States, and other countries where Apple, Google, and we operate. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, by in-app notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
